I received an email from Rita from Kenmore in Brisbane, who had her uncle’s riding crop. It was dated from 1933 and it was in need of some repair.
A note accompanied the riding crop with some info about Rita’s uncle and the crop. Turns out he won it.

The riding crop belonged to my uncle, Vincent John Hayman, who was a jockey in Central Queensland. He was born in 1902 so was 31 when he won the Diggers Cup in Serina in 1933. I am thrilled that I am able to get it repaired.
